Most patients are surprised by how comfortable the procedure is. It's performed under local anesthesia, so you'll be awake but feel minimal discomfort. Afterward, mild soreness is normal for a few days and is easily managed without prescription medication.
The procedure typically takes 30–60 minutes and is performed right in our Beverly Hills office. There's no hospital stay or general anesthesia required.
Preserving sensation is a priority in Dr. Feldmar's approach. While no outcome can be fully guaranteed, the technique used is specifically designed to minimize any impact on sensation.
This depends on the severity of your inversion and the technique required. Dr. Feldmar will discuss your breastfeeding goals during your consultation and tailor the approach accordingly whenever anatomy allows.
Most patients return to light daily activities within 1–2 days. Strenuous exercise and anything that puts direct pressure on the area should be avoided for 2–3 weeks. Dr. Feldmar will give you a personalized recovery plan at your consultation.
For the vast majority of patients, yes. The correction is designed to be long-lasting. In rare cases involving very severe inversion, some degree of recurrence is possible — something Dr. Feldmar will discuss with you honestly upfront.
Incisions are small and placed at the base of the nipple, where they become nearly imperceptible over time. Most patients find any residual marking is not noticeable.
